Eryl couldn't be in a more central location in Cemaes. Two cottages originally built as part of the village shop and grounds, Eryl is placed directly behind our shop and cafe 'Tŷ Cemaes', opposite the Penrhos pub in the centre of the village. Together with the village hall next door we are the beating heart of Cemaes and invite you to come and stay with us to experience the best of Welsh hospitality and community at the heart of the Dyfi Valley.
Eryl shares a garden with Tŷ Cemaes, where you will find locals enjoying a coffee or lunch on warm days. Round the corner Eryl has it's own seating area looking out over the field and the hills in the background. It's a lovely spot to soak up some sun and enjoy a BBQ on a summer's evening. The River Dyfi is less than a minute's walk away where you can do some cold water dipping or cooling off on hot days!
Eryl is now one 3 bedroom self catering house, but with a Tŷ Cemaes twist. There is a fully equipped kitchen with everything you might need; a cooker, grill and 4 electric hobs; dishwasher and fridge (no freezer); a microwave, toaster and kettle. All sizes of glasses, cups and dishes for cooking and serving in supplied. Olive oil, salt, pepper and teabags are also provided. When you stay you are also part of Tŷ Cemaes, and that means back door access to our Cantîn Cemaes serving all day breakfast and lunches til 1.30pm; and we offer supper and packed lunch packages to cater for all diets and preferences using local food, cooked fresh for you.
Washing facilities include a seperate shower and bath, baby changing facilities, hand basin and toilet - all on the 1st floor. A hairdryer and all towels are provided.
Each bedroom is equipped with bed linens, a blanket and USB plug sockets. You can find extra pillows or duvets in the cupboard of the back bedroom.
2 entrance points allow for easy loading and unloading of the car from the parking space alongside the house. If you are coming back wet and muddy after an adventure, you can also walk straight in to the boot room to strip off and store your clothes and equipment, with easy access to the washing machine. The boot room also acts as a safe lockable space for your bikes as well.
Eryl runs on renewable energy, both through our electricity supplier and because the heating is an air source heat pump. Extra warm comfort comes from the wood burner in the living-dining room, which throws out the heat keeping you toasty on cold nights. All of our logs and kindling are dry and sourced locally. One basket is provided on arrival, should you need extra, the same logs and kindling can be purchased from our shop next door.
